Do not follow the lights by weremoon Do not follow the lights by weremoon
ognik, ignis fatuus (will-o'-wisp) - in Slavonic folklore (and some other cultures) a strange light that attracts travellers from the paths and make them lost their way. It was a demon living in marshes or other dark places (rarely on fields).

Black ink, dip pen, yellowish paper a4.

edit: Ok, I have my scanner back. So now it's in better quality, I hope.

Ten bucks that's just an excuse men coming home late after spending the night with another later used on their wives. XD "The ignis fatuus lured me away, and I was lost all night! I swear to it!"

XD But really. This is amazing! The trees look like b&w photos, except with a really cool shading technique. I like how the horse is sort of turning away, like, "Dude, you're nuts. I'm not going that way." :D

Strasznie styl mi się podoba. Dokładnie czegoś takiego szukałem - świetny przykład inkowanego lasu. Duży plus za efekty świetlne i grę kontrastów.

Ciekawa technika.

Your works remind me to old drawings you often find in castles. I love this kind of work; Ink is an amazing medium. And you perfectly know how to work with it. The light and dark is amazing. The light has something mysterious. And you can watch houres to those details in your work!

Oh, really? Nice to hear that!
Yes, ink is great though sometimes for me it's hard to work with it - you can't erase it. But despite this I think it has its own magic. :)
Thanks for your comment and I'm happy that you like my work.

If ink was erasable... everything would be much easyier :P
If you make one mistake, your whole drawing is fucked up!
Anyway, you know how to work with it!

Wow, looks great. Your line is so lively, and it's amazing how it feels like all the time some stick or cane of the grass would be moving in the wind. Also all the details you've got in the picture are nice to look and look and look... like the things you could watch in this piece would never end. Also I see it's important that there is so much vertical and horizontal lines in the background and near of the will-o'-wisps, they balance mainly strong shaped pencil lines and gives posture for the picture. Quite a same thing is with the shading; there is also those pure white and pitch-black places, not only "something between everything".
I have to say, you're skilled.

Definitely +fav

Such a gorgeous depiction of that mythology! Will-o'-wisp was the first thing that came to my mind, and it's beautifully depicted, too!

My favorite part is the way the horse is angling away from the light, as though it knows better than to follow, as the man looks intently after it, wishing to go towards it.

Gorgeous shadows, wonderful technique as always, and not a bad photo, either! :D

Awesome pic. We used to have a lot of marches back in the old days, so we had those odd little lights as well :3
